Sisters & Husbands by Connie Briscoe

By Erika Ayala Platinum Quality Author

The most awaited sequel to Sisters and Lovers, Sisters & Husbands by Connie Briscoe, is finally coming out this June! After fifteen years, Briscoe finally lets us in on what happened to our beloved three sisters. In this book, the story revolves around the question, "How do you keep it alive and fresh?"

Briscoe introduces us to the sisters and this time, ten years have passed since we last saw them. After backing out on her two previous engagements, Beverly has finally met her man in Julian. Everyone is happy and everything is set to be the most perfect event since Evelyn's wedding. That is, until that same marriage falls apart before Beverly's eyes. Now, she's doubting everything again and is taking a step back-away from Julian and from their impending wedding. And this where everything begins to unfold.

In Sisters & Husbands, Briscoe tackles one of the most popular questions and she delivers this as wonderfully as she had with Sisters and Lovers fifteen years ago. It brings us back to reality, on the fact that some women still have wedding jitters. Briscoe shows us that life isn't really perfect and that we have to be strong in order to cope with everything that happens around us. She uses Evelyn, Charmaine and Beverly as representatives of the people around her-and of herself as well-making it feel like they really are real people. It makes the dialogues more heartfelt, the situation more intense. And for me, that makes Sisters & Husbands by Connie Briscoe worth the fifteen-year wait.
